Here is one of the finest Cap Gun (and Western
Memorabilia) collections on the planet. It's hard to get it all, for it is so
vast. Plus, if that isn't enough for you, then Charles has also built his own
cabinets and displays too. If that isn't enough, then he even has his own
luxury Bed and Breakfast just outside of Fredericksburg, Texas (read: Enchanted
Rock) where he displays all of this. He advertises it as the world's largest
Cap Gun collection and I would never doubt it.
If you want your Cap Gun collection featured,
then please send your photos to:
You can find his place
if you would like to visit there at:
http://www.troisestate.net, but I
recommend booking way in advance, for it is quite popular. Oh, by the way...I
asked him and he pronounces his name, "TROYSSSSSS" that would rhyme with
Joyce.
Nice
holsters with Hubley Cap Guns and maybe some Actoy.
YOU CAN CLICK ON MANY OF THESE FOR A LARGER
PHOTO!
Here's a nice double holster set with Hubley Deputies in the
foreground and what looks like Hubley Texans in the background.
By now you ought to be
able to recognize these Leslie-Henry 44's. My what a fancy double holster set.
Unless somebody tells me, I don't recognize holster sets. That's Steve's area
of expertise.
Seems like the music in
the background should be playing the "Eat Your Heart Out Blues." Here's some
really nice rifles. There's a Nichols Stallion Model 300 Saddle Gun and under
it a Mattel Colt Shootin' Shell Six Shooter Cap Gun Rifle. That's a mouthful,
but it is a valuable rifle. I see some white furniture rifles in the lower
left, and they look like Hubleys.
Ahhh! Be still my heart.
Here's a bunch of Nichols Cap Guns! Right in the front we see a Pasadena Silver
Colt. Hey, those look like my boots! That's a Buddy L machine gun on the
bottom. Notice what a nice cabinet Charles has built for these guns. There are
so many, I don't know where he found the time! And quality! My Uncle
Talley would really be horrified to see so many Nichols Cap Guns that close to
Hubleys, but Hubley did make some fine guns. I see some Stallion 45's and 38's
and a few of those nice "infidels."
Another one of those very long showcases. There seems to be no
end to them. I wonder how that Stallion 32 feels surrounded by so many fancy
sets?
I see lots of companies
represented here and a Fargo Express (by Kilgore) right in the middle front. I
see a Hubley Remington and a Colt 45 and a Nichols Stallion 45 and lots of
other worthy Cap Guns. Can you say...COMPULSIVE/OBSESSIVE? In this case that
just translates (just a tad) to "jealousy" from the rest of us. But probably
instead of wishing we owned a collection like this, we ought to just be content
to go book a room in the B & B and then tour the facilities!!! He's a nice
guy and might even show you around.
I see a pair of Pasadena
Stallion 45's in the middle, surrounded by a lot of fine stuff. I can't tell
whether those are Ric-O-Shays above the 45's or whether they are Lone Stars.
This one part of the wall is worth about as much as my car.
A really fancy double
holster set. There's a Kilgore Eagle Cap Gun with the box over there on the
left.
This ought to keep you
humble! Does this give you an idea of the enormity of the collection? Well, it
should. And this is just a portion. I count at least eleven standing showcases
and nine built-in wall cases. And that's just one side of the room. There's
more!
