Esquire Novelty Company is a company that has made small guns and sets of guns with holsters. Their company, apparently, was located in Amsterdam, New York. Esquire is also the parent company - or distribution company - of Actoy. Many times there is a lot of crossover with these two companies.

From Esquire Novelty. The Lone Ranger Official Outfit. Very hard to find, especially in this condition, this set includes a belt with classic early Lone Ranger images.

This store display is a copy of the original Jamie used to own. The original was all marked up and had a lot of damage. The guns, however, are REAL! The guns are made by Esquire. They are mint unfired guns. The barrel extension and stock are removable. The date on the board is 1958. The board measures 36" x 18".

Remarkable photo thanks to Jamie Linford

Esquire / Actoy Restless Gun Set NMIB
This is one heckuva rare combination set. What I don't understand is why it isn't more expensive. It might be because the Actoy/Esquire line of Cap Guns isn't the most popular of lines. But this is an amazing rig!

All photos thanks to Rich Hall one of our advertisers.

Since the other "Restless Gun" stuff was made by Esquire, then (until told differently) I am going to assume that this double holster set was also made by Esquire. It says, "RESTLESS GUN" and under that, "VINT BONNER" who was played by John Payne. We kids like John Payne, for he was the attorney in "Miracle on 34th Street" that got Santa Claus off of the hook. (of course with the BEAUTIFUL Maureen O'Hara!!!)

Thanks to David Denton.

Here's the box from a 1950's Esquire cowboy set. You know...back when kids played outside and didn't have video games. Yo---Rinty!!! For those of you who were born close to this century, Rin-Tin-Tin was a pretty popular TV show where, for some reason, they had a little boy in the U.S. Cavalry, who had this genius of a dog. I loved that dog. And he was just as smart as Lassie, who actually was also a boy. Yo---Rinty!!!

Esquire Holster Set w/ Hubley Texan Jrs.
Beautiful Twin Set!
Photo Thanks To Carl and Ginger Robbins

Here is one of those Cap Guns that Hugh O'Brien on the TV show "Wyatt Earp" made famous. The famous "Buntline Special." If you will look closely, you will see that this gun originally sold for NINETY EIGHT CENTS!!! Try and buy it for that now! 98 cents won't even get you a fancy cup of coffee at Starbucks!

Thanks to James Ewings for this photo contribution.

While the Hideaway Derringer at the top has a bronzed look, this one that is mint on the card has a gold tone to it.

This photo thanks to Rick Paige.

Here is a nice Esquire HIDEAWAY in bronze with dark beige colored grips. It's very unusual to see one like this, so our thanks to Mark Blevins for contributing this photo.

Esquire / Actoy Pony
Esquire, being the "big brother" of Actoy, sold Actoy Cap Guns. And since this Pony was one of the guns, then they sold it too.

This is a small 1955 era Cap Gun that is about 7" long and is all metal and a single shot.

Special thanks to Doug Hamilton for these photos!

I also have this Cap Gun Box, which included a nice holster set and 2 Actoy Cap Guns listed on the Actoy Page as Actoy and Esquire were in cooperation. The photo is thanks to Bill and Anne Campbell.
