And now for something totally different! Cardboard (punch-out!)
Cap Guns. These Cisco Kid Cap Gunshey, you can't even call them "Cap
Guns," can you? Well, they are definitely before my time. Or perhaps I ate the
wrong cereal (but they are advertising bread). Probably, but we had plenty real
Cap Guns in our house anyway. These still had to be from the 1950's because it
says "THE CISCO KID ON TELEVISION."
A NOTE ABOUT
THE CARDBOARD GUNS: Only the Wyatt Earp are cutouts. The rest come in one
piece. The Cisco Kids, for example, actually have clickers in
them.
Here's more of the same, but
this time dedicated to Hopalong Cassidy.
The Lone Ranger had his cardboard gun too. "COMPLIMENTS OF
MORTON'S SALT."
I don't even remember the
Range Rider TV show. How did I miss it? But if I had known there were free
cardboard guns that would eventually be worth some serious cash, I would have
watched and saved!
Here's a little collection
of various heroes (and a heroineDale Evans!) and even Mel Brooks in an
Indian war bonnet. Where did Tim find this stuff? I mean, Blazing Saddles was
made in 1974 (and is the most Politically Incorrect film ever
made!therefore I love it.) so that one had to have been printed rather
recently.
Here's an interesting
group: Buffalo Bill Scout, K), Westerner Pistol and a Leslie-Henry Texas Ranger
Here's part of Tim's
den. One of these days I will hang up my meager collection. I see Michael
Ansara (Cochise) in the lower right-hand corner.
More den. This photo shows a John Wayne memorial ring lever
rifle. Right below that is a Johnny Eagle Red River rifle. As you may know,
John Wayne starred in Red River and the movie was re-made with James
Arness in the part.
More den. I do recognize Rin
Tin Tin towards the bottom and it looks like there Hoss Cartwright in one of
the photos. My dad met Dan Blocker once in a restaurant in Los Angeles. Nice
guy. Why did Parnell Roberts ever leave that show?
Even more den. It looks like we have Chuck Connors as The
Rifleman here. With some other stuff.
