More rifles!

Here are two Texan cap rifles from American West. Cap guns for girls are fairly unusual, but a pink rifle?

Marx Double Barreled Shotgun
This is the Deluxe Grade Double Barrel Shotgun by Marx. Marx made some of the finest toys in the 21st Century, and this is one of the most realistic toys made after the real "Fine Deluxe Grade Shotguns" that our Grandfathers and Great Grandfathers used to own and hunt with. It is a full 35 inches long and breaks down like the real thing. It comes complete with the original box that was inspired by and resembles the soft leather shotgun cases used during the early 1900's.

Kilgore Minute Man
This Kilgore Minute Man is 20" in length with a wooden stock and the rest being cast as found on most old Cap Guns. It has an octagonal barrel and was nickel plated at one time but this example only has remaining nickel on one side and is bare metal on the other.

This is a High Chaparral pop-gun rifle that Is very rare. Tim finally looked a little closer and found Daisy on it somewhere.

Thanks to Tim Tobin

This is the same "series" (if you can call it that) rifle by Mattel from the TV show Rango. Rango was a very short comedy Western series starring Tim Conway that didn't do well.

Hubley Western Scout Rifle in "Blonde"
This is the Rare white "Cowgirl" version of the Hubley "Scout Rifle." It is in MINT un-fired condition and comes in the dull nickel finish. This is one awesome cap rifle.

Hubley Western Scout Rifle
This is a really nice rifle by Hubley and the photographs are simply outstanding! Everybody take note that this is how it is done!

Here is the Marx Spinner (in the Rifleman style), but with a round barrel. Its receiver area is also a little different from the one below.

Thanks to Tim Tobin

Here is the Marx Spinner (in the Rifleman style), but with a hexagonal barrel.

Thanks to Tim Tobin

Carnell Roundup Rifle
Tim says that this Carnell Roundup Rifle came with the Rawhide sets.

Hubley Gold Scout Rifle
The Kelly's Rifle is basically the same as this one. In fact, in the receiver area, almost all of Hubley's rifles are the same. It seems strange to me that the first example I see of this one is in gold.

HALCO (Leslie-Henry) Bonanza Rifle
This is the HALCO (which means Leslie-Henry in this case) Bonanza rifle. This is pretty much a simple 1894-type rifle.

Thanks to Steve Arlin

HALCO (Leslie-Henry) Rifleman
It's the same doggone rifle, but with a different name! And a different cocking lever.

Thanks to Steve Arlin

Here is a complete Rifleman set from Leslie-Henry. VERY RARE (especially to have the box) But look! We also have a holster in the same motif.

HALCO (Leslie-Henry) Texas Ranger
And here we go with another variation of the Rifleman Rifle. Texas sure gets a lot of press!

Thanks to Steve Arlin

Texas Ranger Rifle
Here we go with another example of a company sticking with a design, but merely changing the label. And the color in this case.

Thanks to Steve Arlin

And yet another version of the Texas Ranger Rifle from Leslie-Henry (HALCO).

Thanks to Tim Tobin

And another SUPER RARE offering from our friend Tim Tobin. Crispus Attucks was a black man involved in the Boston Massacre and was the first person killed. Perhaps if he had had a fine Henry rifle like this he would have turned around the battle! But this rifle was found in a flea market basically. It is almost a dead ringer to the Texas Ranger rifle and Tim thinks it might have been a commemorative offering.

Thanks to Tim Tobin

Here's Hubley's fine Frontier rifle, but in the white form. I hope you are clicking on these thumbnails when there's a large photo linked to it!

Thanks to Steve Arlin

Marx Maverick Rifle
This one must really be rare! I'm beginning to find out that Marx made a lot of Cap Gun toys that we don't see very often, because they ARE rare.

Thanks to Steve Arlin

HALCO (Leslie-Henry) Wagon Train
Here's a HALCO offering (again) and they only made 2 changes. They changed the label and also the cocking lever. Flint McCullough is on the label.

Thanks to Steve Arlin

Until I got these photos, I didn't know there was actually a 2nd version of this rifle. Be sure to click on the small photos to see larger ones.

Thanks to Tim Tobin

Flying "A" Ranch
Gene Autry Rifle
This is a simple little toy rifle. But it probably sold well. I hate to admit it, but I never saw a Gene Autry movie in my life! But he was very popular during the 40's and 50's.

Thanks to Steve Arlin

Daisy Red Ranger Rifle
Until I am corrected, I'm sticking this rifle in the Daisy section, since it looks similar to the Texas John Slaughter Rifle by Daisy.

Thanks to Steve Arlin

Marx Sharps Rifle
This was one of the famous rifles that the cavalry used in the Old West.

Thanks to Steve Arlin

This is the same rifle as Steve's, but in the entire original set!!! Wow!!!

From the Bob and Pat DeFeis collection.

Here is a rather rare set by Marx that is a rifle, knife, holster, bullets and Cap Gun! Wow! This rifle must be extremely rare and with the Box!

From the Bob and Pat DeFeis collection.

Marx Davy Crockett
I doubt if Davy Crockett ever had a rifle this good. I mean, give me a break! In 1836 they didn't have lever action guns, centerfire bullets nor fancy sights. But that's showbiz!

Thanks to Steve Arlin

The Marx-Man Ricochet Carbine. Be sure to click on the thumbnails above to see the bigger photos.

Davy Crockett Big Game Rifle
This is so ridiculous that even a little kid would catch on. I mean...Davy Crockett with his scoped big game rifle? With centerfire bullets? Whoever did this should have also introduced a Davy Crockett and Captain Kirk badge or something.

Thanks to Steve Arlin

Mattel Rolling Block Rifle
This rifle makes no sense to me either. I just can't believe that the average 12 year old kid even knew what a rolling block rifle was. So why not just stick with toys the kids knew something about? But this is pretty doggone rare and to have the scabbard too? Cool.

Thanks to Steve Arlin

Marx Rin Tin Tin Rifle
My guess is that Rusty did most of the shooting. But I used to watch that TV show when I was a kid. I didn't know there was a RTT rifle or I might have pestered my parents for one.

Thanks to Steve Arlin
