Andrew is a jeweler in Melbourne, Australia. He also restores real guns and air guns......and collects Cap Guns (and ray guns). Some really fantastic work. Very painstaking.

NICHOLS GUNS
(in Uncle Talley's order)

VARIOUS OTHER COLLECTIONS

This is a Nichols First Model Stallion 45. (OK, it's actually the 2nd variation of the 1st model.) The actual first model had the notches in the cylinder, but this version was "cleaned up" and is the one that most people remember. I may have even put it together (Mike Nichols). Probably not, but it is a good thought from my point of view. Notice the one-piece box. There were, of course, two different versions of the box—not counting Tex Tan's contribution. The other version had a lid.

Here's a Fanner 50, but the significance of this one is it's the only one I've (Andrew) EVER seen from any of the collectors or any web searching with a highly finished gold plated cylinder (like the Shootin Shell models) as they all came with a sort of paint finished cylinder and in this condition Andrew says it's probably the rarest gun he owns. It's a little hard to tell the cylinder is gold plated, but the yellow sheen gives it away.

This is a normal model Fanner but brand new old store stock.

And here's another angle of a previous photo we've seen, but it compares the Fanner with the gold cylinder by its counterpart with the normal cylinder. Up nice and close!

These next three photos are about the BEST photos you are ever going to see in your lifetime of the Plainsman by National Metal and Plastic Company!

This is a great shot of the above Blued Stallion 45.

And here is one of the greatest prizes in all of the Cap Gun Hobby!!! The famous Kilgore Fargo Express Cap Gun! Andrew even has all of the provenance to go with it. I included the second photo because it is the right side of the gun. The left side of this Cap Gun with the famous lettering on the grip is so famous that you almost never see the right side of the gun! Can you beat these grips?

Here is a special presentation photo that Andrew sent me later.

This particular Long Tom is as good as it gets. Even though it is part of a larger group of (basically) the same Cap Guns, these are such prize collector's items, that you are virtually required to have them all in order to be "doing it right." And Andrew is certainly on the right road to doing it right. He's quickly gaining one of the best collections in Australia.

And here's the "little gun" of the famous cast iron group from Kilgore. Folks, these are really serious collector's items and only the most serious collectors covet them so much that they are willing to forget about the expense and just "go for it." This basic Kilgore group of cast iron guns are absolutely the best examples of cast iron guns ever made. Now where's that Roy Rogers SIGNED Long Tom?

This is a wonderful Gold Hubley Cowboy that Andrew bought from Chuck Quinn. Simply magnificent.

Here is a great Marx Thundergun that you don't see every day!

Two of my friends: Andrew Teleki and Chuck Quinn. Friends from both sides of "The Pond." Andrew being from Australia and Chuck representing California. The Cap Gun show is Chuck's annual extravaganza. You meet the nicest people at these shows.
