One of the "Urban Legends" concerning this gun is that the
cowboy and pony were on one side of the grips and the Longhorn steer on the
other side because (respectively) Uncle Talley sent to SMU (Mustangs) and Daddy
went to The University of Texas (Longhorns). As far as I know there is no truth
in that, for my dad went to both schools and also went to seminary at Perkins
School of Theology, which is an adjunct of SMU. This story really went to town
when the Stallion 45 came out.
