Here we can easily read who made it: the National Metal and Plastic Company. USA of course. The earlier (or just "Other") versions were from the C. Lawyer Company of California. Schleyer also says that these guns were somewhat complicated.

About the opening of the Cap Gun, Ed says, "The little metal lever on the left side of the gun would be moved forward to push the cylinder forward and lock it open to load a flat round cap disk at the back end of the cylinder. The caps are probably similar to the Kilgore caps, but Kilgore caps are not the correct size. I haven't ever seen the kind of caps that are used on this gun."
