It's kind of dark inside from time and usage, but we can still see where the caps went.

I think that one of the interesting things to notice on this series of Cap Guns is that you will see that the cylinder portion is wedged so that when lowered, it aligns itself on the vertical plate that holds the cap roll. This made for a somewhat "positive" alignment. Part of the cylinder is on the rear right portion of the frame (just ahead of the hammer) and part is on the barrel portion. Another way to do it.
