The Cow-Tyke is a LITTLE GUN! While not a miniature, this was a regular "Old West Gun" for the little folks. It used roll caps instead of Stallion bullets.

Here's one of the rarer Cowtykes: A blued one. Nice grip!

Standard Chrome Cow-Tyke
Don't you just "love it" when you have to try and find one of the really simple, but small Cap Guns in order to have a complete set. Well, I am getting close to getting a full "basic" Nichols set. A "Basic Nichols Set" is one of each Nichols gun that is listed in the back of my Uncle Talley's little book. If you don't have a book, get one and read up and start your collection now. You won't ever have a better opportunity!

The Cowtyke was introduced in 1960 and retailed for a whopping $ .69. (SIXTY NINE PENNIES!) By today's standards you would probably look somewhere on the gun and see that it said, "Made In China," but this gun was made in Jacksonville, Texas. Somehow in those days our labor costs and material costs were low enough that America was a competitor! What happened?

A really nice Mint on Card Cowtyke! Have you ever seen one of these?

Another Blued Cow-Tyke
As in many Nichols Cap Guns, there were several variation. While different grips might not sound like a different variation, I just had this bunch of photos and decided to use them.

Here's a great MIB Cowtyke set with two blued guns. The Nichols holster sets are quite rare.
